Human traffic: 10,000 party in Heckenstaller tunnel, Munich, ahead of opening

Kling & Freitag systems supplied by MDS PAtec provided sound coverage over 382m

On the weekend of 18 July, just over a week before the official opening of Munich’s new Heckenstaller tunnel, just under 10,000 revellers converted a 382m section of tunnel into a giant party – ‘Tunnelfest’ – in association with radio stations 95.5 Charivari and Radio Gong.

Technical equipment for the two-day party, including sound systems and lighting, was supplied by MDS PAtec. The Red Bull-sponsored Red Bull Area was equipped with a Kling & Freitag (K&F) Line 212 system with SW215E subwoofers, while the two radio stations’ stages featured K&F ACCESS set-up.

Between the two party areas, truss towers on two K&F GRAVIS 12+ systems provided sound coverage across the entire tunnel.

The Tunnel Heckenstallerstraße opens to traffic today (27 July).
