L-Acoustics today announced the opening of new production, logistics and carpentry facilities in the Paris region, Marcoussis (the south Paris suburb where the company has its headquarters) and Strasbourg, respectively.
The speaker manufacturer says the new facilities will enable it to increase production “significantly” by the end of 2015.
The 8,200m2 (88,264sqft) logistics facility has been operational since early 2015, reportedly expanding capacity by 300 per cent, while the new Marcoussis production facility (pictured) – which, at 3,000m2 (32,291sqft), doubled production capacity – followed in March. The carpentry and paint factory, serving L-Acoustics’ carpentry subsidiary, is under construction and scheduled to open in Q4 2015.
“With the rapid worldwide adoption of reference products like K2, L-Acoustics has been blessed with phenomenal growth,” explains Stéphane Ecalle, director of marketing at L-Acoustics. “The expansion of our logistics and production facilities will allow us to grow in lockstep with the increasing demand.”
The K2 loudspeaker system broke cover in March last year. US live events company Special Event Services specified the K2 for its first official tour as a main PA in July (see Joe Bonamassa is K2’s first official tour).
