New operation 2B Heard Ltd has taken over the distribution of K-array products in the UK, following a change in the Italian loudspeaker company’s arrangements with Sennheiser UK.
Heading up 2B Heard team are ex-Sennheiser staffers Dave Wooster (left) and Sam Nankivell: between them, the pair have more than six years of K-array experience, plus a total of nearly four decades of working in the live, studio, broadcast and systems integration markets.
“I have complete faith in performance and viability of the K-array range, both as an engineer and businessman,” says Wooster. “Over the past few years, the company has unified and solidified and has a really strong range, with options that go from large format Firenze range for concert touring to KZ12 ultra miniaturised line array for discrete installation and a stunning range of high-end home stereo systems.
“But we’ve only just started to scratch the surface of what they’re capable of.”
“That’s why the new distribution channels have been established,” says Nankivell. “With the amount of innovation and development in their product lines, [K-array] wanted a highly trained resource to help deliver it into a wider marketplace and to push things further, faster and harder than before.”
2B Heard says it has a thorough training and demo programme in place already, along with comprehensive product support.
“Both of us absolutely love this stuff,” adds Nankivell. “The more we get to show people, the more passionate we are about it. We have been involved with K-array since very early on and the amount of development that has been done in that time is phenomenal.
“Any new business venture is a risk in terms, but we know a business based on good-quality service, solid design principles and a real-world understanding of all market sectors and good old-fashioned hard work has the ability to succeed.”
2B Heard has hit the ground running, with work on a number of installations for ATG theatres in the offing, including the Bristol Hippodrome and Kings Theatre Glasgow, plus the theatre and new concert hall at the Royal Northern College of Music with Stage Electrics. High-end home integrations with Sensory International and a luxury ski chalet in Switzerland are also on the schedule.
“We love it,” says Nankivell. “K-array systems work. It’s as simple as that.”
