Miloco has further expanded its studio directory with the addition of two recording facilities in Italy and France.
Oxygen Recording Studios (pictured) – located on a tranquil hillside in Italy’s Piemonte region – is a private residential recording studio created by producer, guitarist and owner Paride Lanciani.
The studio focuses on vintage and analogue gear, with the heart of the studio formed by a restored vintage Ghunter Loof console, produced in limited numbers from 1975-83. An array of other vintage pieces of equipment and instruments are housed around the three recording spaces and control room, which are separated by thick glass doors.
Oxygen offers on-site accommodation for up to six in a converted greenhouse in the garden, a short distance from the main house.
Paride and his team believe they have created a warm and inviting studio setting with Oxygen. The studio focuses on tape recording – taking full advantage of the classic analogue sound – but also has Pro Tools for those wanting to record digitally.
Le Manoir de Léon is a large residential recording studio located in the Landes Forest on France’s south west coast, between Biarritz and Bordeaux. Situated on a large plot of private land, the facility is made up of three buildings: two accommodation options and the studio itself.
Purpose designed and built as a recording studio, Le Manoir boasts an ‘outstanding’ acoustic design, carried out by Christian Malcurt, with ‘perfect’ isolation that allows recording around the clock.
The studio is comprised of the main live recording room, three isolation booths and a spacious control room. The live room is complete with a comprehensive list of backline, including a Bösendorfer grand piano, while the control room is based around a 48-input Neve 8128 and Pro Tools HD with ATC 5-way custom monitors, Genelecs and Yamaha NS10’s.
Artist accommodation is also on site: ‘Le Manoir’, an 18th Century manor house with nine bedrooms, and ‘La Longère’ a separate two-bedroom building – when combined there is enough room for 22 people to stay. The complex also offers its own large dining room, living room, and swimming pool for recreation. An optional catering service can be organised for an additional cost.
