Miloco Studios installs new Avid products

Miloco Studios has installed Pro Tools HDX cards in The Bridge, and new HD I/O interfaces in The Engine Room, writes Erica Basnicki.

Miloco has announced the introduction of two brand new Avid products to its flagship London-based studios. The Bridge, Miloco’s programming/writing room, was outfitted with Pro Tools HDX cards while The Engine Room was upgraded with new HD I/O audio interfaces. Miloco is one of the first commercial studios in the UK to upgrade to the new system, and to Pro Tools 10. Nick Young, managing director at Miloco Studios, commented: “We decided to upgrade one of our rigs to keep Miloco at the forefront of commercial studios. It is important for us to get the latest advances made by Avid as early as possible so we understand the capabilities of the new equipment, the problems we may encounter and the benefits of operating the latest version of their gear. At the same time this gives our customers the perfect opportunity to use the latest system in one of our smaller studios and to evaluate for themselves the benefits over the current HD systems.” The Bridge features a large live room, and is located right next door to flagship studio The Engine Room. The latter is built around an SSL4056 G-Series console and has been used for several chart-topping albums including Oasis’ What’s The Morning Glory and Be Here Now, all the Chemical Brothers albums, Slipknot’s 2008 number one US album All Hope Is Gone and more recently acclaimed new artists such as Wild Beasts, Foals, The Villagers and Lana Del Ray.
