Munro builds new studio for Gledden

Munro Acoustics has just finished building a brand new studio for Audio Network composer Barrie Gledden

Studio design specialists Munro Acoustics recently completed work on a new studio facility in Lincolnshire for Audio Network composer, producer, and shareholder Barrie Gledden. Gledden’s career began as a guitarist in theatre music, and while still in his teens, his rock band, Brazil, was featured in session for BBC Radio One. He went on to be hailed as one of the best guitarists to come out of England in years by Mike Varney of US publication Guitar Player, and co-wrote and recorded three albums for alternative rock band Old Man Stone. Currently, Gledden is writing and producing 200 tracks for Audio Network. The new studio space was originally a hayloft, so the height of the roof had to be adapted to allow for more headroom and a new staircase. Munro Acoustics was involved from the very beginning, dealing with building regulations, then designing the acoustic treatment to optimise the room for listening, adding air conditioning, and building the booth in modular form and constructing it on site. “I need to be at the top of my game when composing music for Audio Network,” says Gledden. “This studio allows me to push my tracking, mixing and production techniques to new heights; it’s like an audio operating theatre!”
