Atelier Vision Corporation (ATV), founded on 1 July 2014 by then-84-year-old Ikutaro Kakehashi, the man behind the Roland Corporation, will be exhibiting for the first time internationally at Prolight + Sound/Musikmesse 2015 in Frankfurt.
The multifaceted corporation’s audio and video product lines will focus on applications in the broadcast, entertainment, networking, corporate AV, events, installation and digital signage markets internationally, while an MI arm will deliver “electronic products in the most important segments: drums, percussion, keyboards and guitar”.
“The last five years has seen vast changes in the technologies that power the AV and MI markets,” says Paulo Caius, ATV’s EMEA sales and marketing manager and a former president of Roland Iberia (pictured, right, with Kakehashi). “In addition, consumers in these markets are now better-informed and more interconnected than ever and demand companies whose products and services meet their ever-rising expectations. Our experience taught us that AV and MI products need to be better, as do the companies that make them. That’s what we had in mind when we founded ATV.”
Atelier Vision’s production and twin R&D departments have been located in Japan from the company’s inception – its Hamamatsu R&D centre handles MI products and the Matsumoto centre AV – while ATV Europe, a 50/50 partnership between Caius and Kakehashi, was founded in Oporto but will shortly be transferring operations to Eindhoven.
ATV, which will be selling its products worldwide, says it “looks forward to meeting potential sales partners representing all territories in Frankfurt” in Hall 4.1, stand E26.
