Pro Sound Awards 2017: Everything you need to know

It’s that time again! The pro audio event of the year – PSNEurope’s Pro Sound Awards – is back. For the event’s fifth year, we’re moving to The Steel Yard in the heart of London, for a top night of recognising industry excellence. Taking place on Thursday September 28 2017, tickets for the awards are selling fast – so why not get yours now?

The Pro Sound Awards were set up five years ago to recognise excellence in the industry, and each year the level of talent has gone from strength to strength.

Funktion-One’s Tony Andrews will take home the Lifetime Achievement award. He commented: “It’s a huge honour to be recognised by the industry that has played such a large part in my life. The pursuit of audio excellence has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember; it’s a passion I’ve tried to share with everybody, whether they’ve liked it or not! While there have been many highlights and achievements to date, I’m confident there are more still to come.”

Meyer Sound is this year’s Grand Prix winner, marking 50 years since the company set up shop. Helen Mayer said: “This is an incredible honour and we are very proud to be accepting this. This has been an incredible year for us – celebrating the 50 years that we’ve been together, and this has been the high point for us. This means everything to us.”

We’ll also be unveiling the winner of the Rising Star award, in association with Audio Media International. Winners of the Live Sound, Installation, Marketing Initiative – plus many more – awards will also be announced on the night.

All in all, it’ll be an unmissable event to catch up with the biggest names in the business, relax after busy Plasa and IBC trade shows, and raise a toast to all of those on the shortlist.
