Our annual PSNLive supplement provides a comprehensive report on the state of the live sound market

The combined PSNEurope July/August edition and its accompanying PSNLive annual supplement are out now, providing a bumper crop of exclusive interviews and incisive features that delve into the current state of the pro audio market.

Our July/August double issue features exclusive insights from the award winning sound crew behind hit TV series Killing Eve, as well as a comprehensive report from Phil Ward into the transformative impact immersive audio is having on theatre sound.

UK Music CEO, Michael Dugher, updates us on the state of the nation’s live music sector, exploring the challenges facing the grassroots venues scene and the potentially catastrophic effects a no deal Brexit could inflict upon the industry.

Elsewhere, we hear from some of the brightest talent currently working in the world of live sound about their experiences in the field, while Tara Lepore reports back from this year’s Roskilde Festival, having caught up with Meyer Sound founders John and Helen Meyer to discuss their unique relationship with the Danish event.

Our monthly columnist, mastering engineer Katie Tavini, ruminates on the importance of being an active member in the pro audio community and Suzanne Bull MBE, founder of charity Attitude Is Everything, fills us in on the work being done to make music venues and studios more accessible for deaf and disabled people.

We also speak to Oscar winning sound production editor Nina Hartstone about her incredible career to date and what it was like to work on box office smash Bohemian Rhapsody, while acclaimed FOH engineer, Ben Hammond, examines the biggest challenges engineers can come up against when mixing in the smallest of venues.

Meanwhile, our annual PSNLive supplement returns for 2019, serving up an array of features and reports delving into every nook and cranny of the live music sector.

Following on from last year’s Next Generation report, we chat to some of the most talented audio professionals from across the live music spectrum, while David Davies delivers some key insights into the grassroots circuit and the challenges facing some of the UK’s most significant small-mid-sized venues.

Phil Ward once again casts his eye over the immersive audio boom and the influence it is having on the live sector, while Kevin Hilton provides his annual Extreme Gigs report, in which he examines some of the most ambitious and technically challenging gigs taking place on earth.

This year’s PSNLive also explores the complex world of classical concert hall acoustics in some of Europe’s most revered venues, plus, we have reports on some of the biggest shows of the summer so far, including London’s All Points East and Field Day festivals, as well as Taiwanese singer and actor Jay Chou’s record-breaking O2 Arena show.
