Live engineer extraordinaire Robb Allan and National Theatre head of sound Jonathan Suffolk are the latest panellists confirmed for our upcoming networking event, PSNPresents, as it continues to attract top talent from across the industry.
Allan (pictured) has worked with Coldplay, Manic Street Preachers, Natalie Imbruglia, Richard Ashcroft and Lisa Stansfield; mixed broadcast sound on David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, Jay Leno, the Brit Awards, the MTV Music Awards and the 2010 World Cup ‘Kick-Off Concert’; and, in the summer of 2013, engineered ex-Cocteau Twin Liz Fraser’s two comeback gigs. When he’s not busy in his role as a live sound specialist for Avid/Pro Tools, he’s the FOH man of choice for Massive Attack.
From humble beginnings at the famous Bristol Old Vic, Suffolk (pictured right) has amassed nearly thirty years’ experience in technical production, operations and sound design in the UK theatre world. For the last three years he has served as head of the sound and video department at the Royal National Theatre, managing a team of 30 technicians and overseeing the upgrade and integration of the newest parts of the famous South Bank building.
Allan and Suffolk will join the Bafta-nominated Scott Talbott, craft manager at BBC Studios and Post Production (see BBC S&PP’s Scott Talbott to speak at PSNPresents), and Strictly Come Dancing sound supervisor Andy Tapley (see Andy Tapley, BBC S&PP sound supervisor, added to PSNPresents line-up) at the networking event on 12 March.
PSNPresents, inspired by The Pre-Roll section of last year’s Pro Sound Awards, is centred around a sequence of on-stage interviews and panels with leading lights from the pro-audio spectrum. Focusrite was recently announced as the first event sponsor (see Focusrite confirmed as PSNPresents… sponsor), with more to be confirmed soon.
PSNPresents will take place at the Ham Yard Hotel, London, on Thursday 12 March from 6.45pm with a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £35.
A variety of sponsorship packages are available for the event. Contact Ryan O’Donnell ([email protected]), Darrell Carter ([email protected]) or Rian Zoll-Khan ([email protected]) for more information.
