Solid State Logic presents broadcast audio in action at IBC 2019

SSL to showcase NGA and immersive workflows with Fraunhofer, Sennheiser and Spiritland Productions

Following last year’s immersive release on its System T broadcast production platform, Solid State Logic (SSL) will be working with partners at IBC 2019 to present the realities of multi-format audio in action.

With support for ATSC 3.0, Dolby Atmos, and MPEG-H, plus the recent Sennheiser AMBEO partnership, visitors can experience the benefits of NGA to enhance the broadcast experience.

Fraunhofer (8.B80) – Visitors can experience an immersive and interactive MPEG-H production with material captured at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. The latest S500m System T console will provide the audio mix as part of an end-to-end immersive presentation which will cover the capture, mix, encode, decode and delivery to a consumer soundbar.

Sennheiser (8.D50) – As a partner within the Sennheiser AMBEO for VR partnership program, SSL will showcase VR mixing with an AMBEO VR Mic as part of their immersive presentations. System T provides on-board A-B format conversion support for the AMBEO VR Mic, with a 360 transcoder to render to a wide range of multi-channel outputs from 4.0 to 7.1.4.

At 4pm each show day there will be a specific presentation on the SSL booth presenting the AMBEO integration and production workflow.

Spiritland Productions (12.F20) – The latest ‘Spiritland One’ OB truck constructed by leading systems integrator, Megahertz, is a purpose-built truck for UK based Spiritland Productions. Based around SSL’s System T S500 audio console, the truck contains an end-to-end Dante IP infrastructure and is Dolby Atmos and immersive ready, coupling a Dolby DP590 and 7.1.4 Neumann speaker set up to the System T console.
