Turkish state palace chooses Shure AV products for large-scale tech refit

Shure has been chosen to supply AV systems to Turkey’s state palace – from the 2,050-seater congress hall to the basement meeting rooms.

Supplied by Shure’s Turkish distributor Atempo, microphones, mixing hardware and conferencing systems are among the components installed as part of the large-scale tech fit at the presidential complex in Ankara.

Atempo supplied Shure equipment as part of its tender to install AV systems in two multi-purpose congress halls at the complex – a 300-seater and 2,050-seater hall – used for concerts, conferences, opera shows, and theatre productions. The tender also covered nine associated basement meeting rooms, plus foyers and public exhibition areas.

Atempto project sales manager Tayfun Konuralp said: “For this project, we really had to ensure we could deliver clear audio with no disruptions. There were three main criteria for the client: sound quality, the ease of implementation of the system’s network, and the physical look of the product. Shure outperformed the competition in all three areas.”

The 2,050-seater hall was fitted with a DCS 6000 digital conferencing system, providing sound reinforcement for speeches in the hall and allowing 12 languages to be translated and relayed to any of the individual seats. Axient wireless microphone systems were also supplied in the halls and basement rooms.

It was the first time Atempo had handled a translation system for a hall of this size [involving 2,050 seats]. Shure provided support directly during the installation, as Atempo project coordinator Murat Koysuren explained: “The Shure technical team supported our installers with detailed cabling structures as well as on-site support during the installation.”

Koysuren added: “One of the main requirements for this project was that the networked components should be easy to manage and control remotely, and our installers have told us us how the wireless products made that so simple for them.”
