Yamaha has introduced its new VXL1-16P Dante-enabled, Power over Ethernet (PoE) loudspeaker, designed for conference room, boardroom and other meeting space applications in the corporate installation market.
PoE allows power to be supplied over a Cat5e (or higher) Ethernet cable, meaning only a single cable is needed for power, control and audio distribution.
Launched at InfoComm2018, the VXL1-16P is a slim (5.4cm/2.1inch wide) line array loudspeaker, optimised to deliver high quality audio into rooms that require vocal clarity from a stylish design, but where space is limited.
The VXL1-16P receives audio via a Dante network, with power supplied from a PoE compliant L2 switch. Equipped with 16 3.75 cm/1.5 inch full-range drivers, the VXL1-16P reduces vertical dispersion, ensuring that clear sound is delivered to the back of the room, but with wide horizontal coverage.
The VXL1-16P’s Dante/PoE provision means that an entire speaker system can be constructed as a network, allowing existing IT infrastructure to be effectively used. Simple wiring via LAN cables, easy installation and no need for a power amplifier contribute to the flexibility of installation. Speakers can also be remotely controlled from Yamaha’s ProVisionaire Touch custom control panel for iPad, via a Wi-Fi network.
Dedicated mounting hardware is included, with a wide range of options also available. These include WMB-L1B/ WMB-L1W wall mount brackets, with adjustable vertical and horizontal angles, the HCB-L1B horizontal coupling bracket (for providing higher SPL with a narrower, horizontal dispersion) and the PA-L1B pole-mounting option.
