CCTV Takes on TSL for Olympic Winter Games

China Central Television Network is onsite at the Olympics with TSL

Pyeongchang, South Korea (February 14, 2018)—China Central Television Network (CCTV) is using TSL Products’ PAM2-IP audio monitoring unit to assist with its coverage of the Winter Games being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

CCTV installed the PAM2-IP at its Beijing headquarters to monitor the facility’s IP and 4K-based master control and live production infrastructure. TSL’s PAM2-IP is an audio and video monitoring solution that handles uncompressed SMPTE 2022-6 and SMPTE 2110 sources.

The PAM2-IP was selected to provide audio and video signal monitoring within the central control room, as well as for use by the field team, which is using the unit to support remote IP transmission.

CCTV has worked with TSL Products for years, with monitoring devices widely adopted in the master control and transmission systems at its headquarters in Beijing.

“It’s not easy to build a successful product, not to mention a successful and future-proofed product,” said a spokesperson for the outside production team at CCTV.

“It requires that the manufacturer effectively understands the customers’ needs and balance this with technical changes occurring in broadcast environments. As IP becomes more widely adopted, we are confident that TSL Products will be able to support us with solutions that can accommodate these changes.”
