Montreal, Canada/Los Angeles, CA (November 23, 2011)—Game On Audio recently applied its Rythmo Band voiceover recording technology to Ubisoft’s French language version of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
Game On Audio, with facilities in Montreal and Los Angeles, has collaborated with Ubisoft on the audio production on every game of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, butthis is the first installment to utilize the company’s Rythmo Band workflow for the video game industry. Rythmo Band technology was initially developed for film dubbing, in an effort to improve matching foreign language translations to the mouth movements of the actors on screen.
Game On Audio’s new Rythmo Band workflow has been customized from motion picture software to suit the video game industry, while maintaining a linear flow that allows the actors to concentrate on the story and their delivery.
The new technology also permits multiple actors to record at the same time and become immersed in an ensemble as is common with animated films. Game On estimates that Rythmo Band streamlines the process, making sessions roughly 25 percent more productive.
“We’re very happy with the results we’ve seen on Assassin’s Creed: Revelations both in terms of the quality of the performances and from a production standpoint,” said Margherita Seconnino, localization manager at Ubisoft. “We are fully confident that this will be the industry-standard workflow moving forward.”
