Los Angeles, CA (February 12, 2018)—Insecure secured three wins at the 8th annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards, which honored creative achievement in music supervision within the film, television, trailers and games industries, while Call Me By Your Name and Apple each picked up two awards.
At the ceremony, which was held at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on February 8, Kenny Loggins received the guild’s first Icon Award and performed a medley of his greatest soundtrack hits, including “Footloose.” Becky Mancuso-Winding, who worked on the film Footloose, received the Legacy Award as one of the industry’s first credited feature film music supervisors.
The awards in the two big-budget film categories went to music supervisors Julianne Jordan and Julia Michels for Pitch Perfect 3 and Brian Ross and Michael Hill for Lady Bird. There was some controversy around Baby Driver, which wasn’t nominated because director Edgar Wright selected the music and no music supervisor was credited, but Trailer Park’s Bobby Gumm picked up an award for his work on the film’s trailer.
