Burbank, CA (October 27, 2016)—South Lake Audio Services has launched in Burbank at the Roundabout Entertainment facility, where industry veteran Paul Rodriguez will serve as president with four-time Emmy-nominated re-recording mixer Keith Rogers heading the creative team.
South Lake, a union-signatory sound company offering mixing and ADR services for motion pictures and television, will operate three mix stages and multiple ADR recording studios at the Roundabout campus, and plans to add four more mix stages next year. South Lake’s mix stages are equipped with latest generation Avid Icon D-Control digital consoles and Pro Tools editing systems. They also feature 4K and HD projection systems, are Dolby certified and capable of mixing in 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.
The company has already mixed its first two TV series: season three of AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire and the debut season of Westworld for HBO. Upcoming projects include The Exorcist (Fox) and Frequency (Warner Bros.). South Lake has also forged a close working relationship with sound editing company Atomic Sound, also headquartered on the Roundabout campus.
Rodriguez brings more than 20 years of experience in sound, including executive roles at Todd-AO/Soundelux, Wilshire Stages, 4MC and EFX Systems. In addition to managing sales and operations for South Lake, he will continue to serve as vice president of audio services and development for Roundabout, a position he assumed last year.
Rogers has more than 200 credits as a re-recording mixer across television and features. His most recent Emmy nomination came in 2012 for the drama series Person of Interest. He won a CAS Award in 2010.
Other key staff include effects mixer Scott Weber, ADR mixer Colin Rogers, recordist Kyle O’Neil and recordist/engineer Teddy Salas. The company is also eying the establishment of a satellite facility on Los Angeles’ Westside.
