Quartet Masters Barbershop

Stanley Clarke, four-time Grammy winning bassist and composer, recently mastered his original soundtrack to Barbershop: The Next Cut at Bernie Grundman Mastering with mastering engineer Mike Bozzi.

Hollywood, CA (May 16, 2016)—Stanley Clarke, four-time Grammy winning bassist and composer, recently mastered his original soundtrack to Barbershop: The Next Cut at Bernie Grundman Mastering with mastering engineer Mike Bozzi.

Clarke visited the facility with recording engineer Bobby Campbell and drummer Gerry Brown.

Director of the film, Malcolm D. Lee, said, “I love working with Stanley because each time he helps elevate and deliver the vision of my film through the power of great music and musicianship. Like his score for Boyz N The Hood, this Barbershop: The Next Cut score is the heartbeat of the film that rides the wave of emotions that it delivers. I’m thrilled to have this great music released as it should.”

Clarke is one of the most celebrated acoustic and electric bass players in the world, and is equally gifted as a recording artist, performer, composer, conductor, arranger, producer and film score composer. About his latest score, he said, “This is my sixth movie working with Malcolm D. Lee. It is always great to work with a comprehensive and detailed director. I am very happy to contribute to this successful franchise. This movie in particular has a deep relevant connection with the times we live in.”

The soundtrack is now available on CD and digital formats. The comedy Barbershop: The Next Cut is a presentation of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and New Line Cinema, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and MGM. It stars Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Eve, JB Smoove, Lamorne Morris, Sean Patrick Thomas, Tyga, Deon Cole, Common and Nicki Minaj.
