VIENNA, Austria – In its 21st year of “Fighting AIDS and Celebrating Life,” the annual Life Ball celebration featured global celebrities, ambassadors and performers on 11 stages in a glamorous night to raise awareness of the ailment affecting hundreds of millions of people. From Sir Elton John to Bill Clinton, a vast spectrum of stars performed and presented to the thousands in attendance and millions watching on television to deliver the important message. With HARMAN’s AKG wireless systems, in-ear monitors, wired microphones and headphones, that message was heard loud and clear around the world.
Fifty channels of AKG WMS4500 and DMS700 wireless were deployed throughout Vienna’s City Hall building. Thirty channels of IVM4500 in-ear monitors and 60 wired D5 and D7’s were used for performances and presentations, while 20 K267 and K181 headphones were used by DJs during the event. AKG has provided microphone, headphone and wireless solutions to the Life Ball celebration for eight consecutive years.
International stars included Sir Elton John, President Bill Clinton, Fergie, Hilary Swank, Carmen Electra, Adam Lambert, Kelly Osbourne and Barbara Eden, who donned her classic I Dream of Jeannie costume, among others graced the stage during the event.
“Life Ball continues to send a very strong message around the world, helping to ensure we are all fully educated and aware of AIDS and its continuing devastation around the world,” stated Walter Ruhrig, Artist and Key Customer Relations, AKG. “Providing a clear and reliable audio channel for this important message is key for the event’s effectiveness. Partnering with Life Ball once again to provide microphone systems has become an honored tradition for AKG. We are very happy to work with our Vienna neighbors!”
